The course is run over a seventeen week period, one night a week, at Reaseheath College in Nantwich, Cheshire. The course has a qualification through the Open College Network.
There are two levels: level three and level two. Level three has a written assignment done in six parts - do not be put off by this, we are here to help you achieve your goals. Level two has a one off multiple choice test. Both options do have practical tests also.

Wildlife and Countryside Act, C.I.T.E.S., Schedule 4 and Article 10 Certificates. |
| Housing: | Size, Design, Location, Costings and Materials required. |
| Hygiene: | Food preparation & storage, cleaning routines and disinfectants. |
| Nutrition: | Food types and their values, quantity, quality, supplements and appropriate diets for different stages in the birds life. |
| First Aid: | Veterinery Surgeons Act, crop tubing, use of splints and general 'in the field' first aid. |
| Weight Management: | Weight charts, weighing procedures, scales and flying on line for fitness. |
| Equipment: | Evaluation of equipment required, perches, baths, bells etc. |

Furniture Making: | Using leather to make furniture for the birds. |

Handling: | Falconry knot, catch up from flights, general handling of birds. |
| Practical Demos: | Butcher shows how to prepare game for your birds. Other demonstrations cover coping of beaks and health checks. |
