VISITS

We regularly visit Primary Schools, High Schools, Colleges of Further Education, Nursing Homes and of course we also offer after dinner speeches.

Jane Hemingway is affectionately known as Jane The Owl Lady throughout all schools in the Cheshire, Lancashire, Staffordshire and Shropshire areas, from reception class to High School sixth form. Jane is CRB checked.

Birds of prey can offer the children a great deal to learn about, in many areas of the curriculum.

STORY TIME

Nursery and reception classes enjoy the Owl Babies story and meeting the birds.

TYPES OF BIRD

We discuss the types of birds of prey we have throughout the United Kingdom, what to look for in the wild, and raptor behaviour.

HISTORY

Children learn when and how we used to use birds of prey to provide food for the table. We can also cover the right to fly laws, and old folk lore and wives tales passed down through the centuries.

SCIENCE

Meeting the birds means we can cover sight, hearing, feathers and their uses. We also discuss pellets - how to determine what type of bird has eaten what type of prey - and the environment and how it affects raptors and their habitat.

Price arrangements vary depending on school location. The great thing is everybody learns while having a fun time.
